Regular $26.99
 Save 26%

Superdeal $19.95

Wine Advocate 90 Points
"It is hard to find a better value than the outstanding 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (which may even be discounted for under $25 a bottle). This sleeper of the vintage exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color as well as loads of cassis, blackberry, graphite, and cedar notes. Full-bodied, rich, and concentrated with silky tannins and a lush, generous constitution, this beauty is capable of lasting 10-15 years."

Stephen Tanzer IWC 90 Points

"Good deep ruby-red. Aromatic nose combines currant, flowers, menthol, mint and fresh herbs (I might have said garrigue). Then sweet and lush but suave and not at all exaggerated, with very good tannic support to the red fruit and lavender flavors."

Rich and biscuity, with a fine mousse and a firm beam of acidity for support. This sets the stage for the peach, vanilla and warm spice notes. There's lovely harmony and finesse, with a lingering finish. Drink now through 2010.

Wine Enthusiast 91 Points
“This is quite a good Syrah that impresses all the way through. The first sniff is of a burst of white pepper, while the first sip assaults the palate, in a good way, with ripe blackberry, plum, mulberry and roasted meat flavors, and a sprinkling of cloves and anise.”

2008 Marquis Philips Merlot S.E. Australia
Regular $16.99
 Save 25%

Superdeal $12.75

Wine Advocate 91 Points
The 2008 Merlot will go a long way toward repairing the grape’s reputation as a libido killer. Purple-colored, it sports an enticing bouquet of cedar, black cherry, plum, and violets. Full-bodied, layered, and succulent on the palate, this ripe effort is well balanced despite its size, and has a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Drink it over the next 5 years.   With veteran vigneron Chris Ringland now in charge of the winemaking, I can state unequivocally that this is the finest collection of Marquis Philips wines since the label was started in 2000.

2006 Northstar Merlot Columbia Valley
Regular $54.99
 Save 46%

Superdeal $29.95

Wine Advocate 92 Points

The 2006 Merlot Columbia Valley is composed of 76% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It was aged in French and American oak, 65% new, for 18 months. The fruit was sourced from 14 different vineyards making the wine a testament to the art of blending. Dark crimson-colored, it displays an alluring bouquet of cigar box, sage, clove, cinnamon, black cherry, and a hint of chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, round and elegant on the palate, it has solid depth and enough ripe tannin to support 2-3 years of additional cellaring. Drink this intensely flavored effort from 2011 to 2021.

Wine Advocate 90 Points
An excellent effort that reveals broad notes of black currants, cedar, licorice, and underbrush. Its Bordeaux-like aromatic profile is accompanied by medium to full-bodied, lush flavors, and well-integrated acidity and tannin. It is a terrific Cabernet Sauvignon that should retail for under $50 a bottle. Moreover, it will age well for 10-15+ years.
Stephen Tanzer IWC 91 Points
Cherry and red berry aromas are complicated by dried rose, tobacco and fresh herbs. Juicy and intense, with gently sweet red and dark berry flavors and slow-mounting tannins. Becomes more floral with air and finishes with impressive clarity and spicy persistence. Eighty percent of the vines that provided this fruit are planted on steep hillsides.
