"Offers baked cherry pie,
with rhubarb and blueberry, showing a wonderful fruit profile that's
spicy, elegant and easy to drink. Great balance. Drink now. 35,000
cases made"
When Wine Spectator's James Laube raved about this wine on his blog
a few weeks back, we took notice. It is not often, actually maybe
this is the first time, that he has ever gushed on about such an
inexpensive wine.
Here is what he wrote on April 22nd on his blog at winespectator.com.
"You rarely find the words "excellent" and "inexpensive" in the same
sentence as Pinot Noir. But yesterday I found that rarest of
rarities-an $8 Pinot Noir that is an amazing buy, with a very good
rating. It's the 2008 RedTree California Pinot and in my blind
tasting I was wowed by this wine's elegance, balance and complex mix
of baked cherry pie, rhubarb and blueberry flavors. The winery is
owned by Roy and Rachael Cecchetti and is dedicated to value wine.
In this case it matters less what's in the wine than what it tastes
like, and this one is yummy Pinot Noir and easy to drink."
Don't delay. As you can imagine, this wine has sold out quickly
nationwide since James Laube raved about it and we have a limited
number of cases arriving on Thursday, June 4th and more the next
week. It will be gone before you know it!
